Drop-Off Recycling Program
DMASWA provides drop off recycling containers at nine locations around Dubuque County to allow residents access to household recycling at no charge.
Containers are located at:

Acceptable Materials Paper products Newspapers Magazines and catalogs Corrugated cardboard (staples ok) Gray chipboard (Cereal, Cracker, and shoe boxes) Junk mail and envelopes Paper bags Mixed office paper Phone books Paperback Books Hard cover books Paper egg cartons Paper towel and tissue roll cores Shredded paper strips Plastic Containers #1 through #5 ONLY Milk and juice jugs Pop and water bottles Yogurt cups Ice cream tubs Cooking oil containers Shampoo bottles Lotion bottles Dish and liquid soap bottles Bleach and detergent containers Household cleaning containers Metal Aluminum Tin, steel, and aluminum cans Metal jar lids GLASS IS NOT ACCEPTED FOR RECYCLING. Glass, other than Deposit Bottles which are recycled by the Distributor, is considered as trash.
Preparation Paper Products Must be clean and dry Flatten to conserve space Metals Rinse out cans If possible, flatten cans with metal lids inside Be sure all metal is clean Plastics Remove and discard all caps, lids, rings, and pumps Flatten containers to conserve space No plastic bags - recycle plastic bags at participating stores

FAQs Who can use these containers?
These containers are meant for use by Dubuque County residents that do not have curbside recycling pickup. This might be those living in apartments or rural areas.
Is there a charge to use these containers?
No charge to residents. The Agency covers the costs for hauling and processing to encourage recycling.
