New this year, the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency (DMASWA) will be accepting household hazardous wastes (HHW) such as oil-based paint, motor oil, lawn chemicals, and other chemicals through the winter season. HHW’s pose an environmental and human health risk if not managed properly. DMASWA Makes It Easy to Recycle at Your Special Event

To encourage recycling at events throughout Dubuque and Delaware counties, the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency (DMASWA) has partnered with the City of Dubuque, Dubuque County Conservation Board and, most recently, the City of Dyersville to loan recycling receptacles to event planners. These Special Event Recycling Units are available free of charge for community events in Dubuque and Delaware counties. Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency's Fiscal Year 2016 Financial Statement Released

Eide Bailly LLP today released an audit report on the Dubuque Metropolitan Area Solid Waste Agency. The Agency's revenues totaled $4,363,307 for the year ended June 30, 2016. The revenues include $4,249,848 in charges for sales and services.Expenses totaled $2,421,055 and include $1,559,961 for supplies and services, $1,390,192 for employee expense, and a negative expense of $1,824,351 for closure and post closure care.A copy of the audit report is available for review is available at...
