Information Collected and Why it is Collected

f you do nothing during your visit but browse through the Agency website, read pages, or download information or blank forms, we will gather and store certain information about your visit automatically. However, this information will not identify you personally. We automatically collect and store only the following information about your visit: 

  • The Internet domain (for example, ABC if you use a private Internet access account,) and IP address (a number that is automatically assigned to your computer whenever you are surfing the Web) from which you access our website
  • The type of browser and operating system used to access our site
  • The date and time you access our site
  • The pages you visit
  • If you linked to our website from another website and the address of that website

We use this information to help make our site more useful to visitors; learning about the number of visitors to our site and the types of technology our visitors use helps us improve the website and the services we offer. 


Generally, this website does not use cookies. Cookies are computer files (or entries in a computer file) to help track information during multiple visits to a website. However, we do use temporary session cookies on some parts of the site. These cookies are set to expire upon the end of your browsing session. For example, we require users to enter particular pages of the website through certain other pages, rather than jumping to them directly. You may set your browser to reject cookies. Use of Voluntarily-Provided Information

If you voluntarily send us information, it will be used for governmental purposes. These purposes may include, without limitation, helping us respond to your request for information; looking into a problem you are bringing to our attention; or keeping lists of interested people (e.g. prospective employees). 

We will not rent or sell information identifying you as a particular person (name, address, phone number, etc.) to third parties without your permission. We will also not disclose credit card information, except for purposes related to your credit card transaction, or with your permission, or as required by law. 


We ask parents to guide their children when children are asked to provide personal information online. We ask children to get their parents' permission before providing any information online. Visitors should be aware that the collection of personal information requested from or volunteered by children online or by email will be treated in the same manner as information given by an adult and may be subject to public access. 

Site Security

For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, the Agency employs commercial software designed to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information or otherwise cause damage. 

Unauthorized attempts to upload information or change information on this service are strictly prohibited and may be punishable by law.

Unless a particular web page on the Agency's website indicates that encryption technology is being used, the user should not assume that information uploaded through that web page to the Agency's web server will be treated as confidential.

Iowa Open Records Statute

Chapter 22 of the Iowa Code establishes general policies for access to government records in Iowa, including information contained in public records of state and local governments. Other sections of the Iowa Code, as well as certain federal statutes, also deal with confidentiality issues. 

Iowa Fair Information Practices Act

Iowa Code Section 22.11 recognizes concerns website visitors may have about public records that include information about them, including the right to correct inaccurate information. Any visitor concerned with the accuracy of information about them should contact:
