DMASWA Compost Facility
The DMASWA Compost Facility is located at the Dubuque Metro Landfill on Highway 20 approximately 2.5 miles west of the Northwest Arterial intersection. For more information, call 563-557-8220 between 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
Materials which may be dropped off for a fee are leaves, grassing clippings, trees, brush, and tree limbs.
Compost Available Dirt-Cheap!
Compost is available for purchase from spring through fall at the Dubuque Metro Landfill. The compost is made of 100% composted grass clippings,
leaves, garden trimmings, brush and trees. Compost is used as a soil amendment for lawns and gardens.
Residents may purchase compost on Saturdays from 8:00 am to 11:00 am and businesses may purchase compost on Wednesdays from 8:00 am to 11:00 am. The compost sells for $3.00 per cubic yard with a minimum charge of $2.00. Pickup and larger trucks will be machine-loaded by landfill personnel; however, persons picking up smaller quantities of compost must bring their own containers and shovels and self-load.
Compost is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to all Dubuque and Delaware county residents and businesses. The Dubuque Metro Landfill is located at 14501 Highway 20 West, approximately 2.5 miles west of the Northwest Arterial intersection.
