Keeping It Clean and Green

DMASWA supports efforts to assist with keeping Dubuque County Clean & Green and decrease litter and illegal dumping. Some special opportunities are available for volunteer groups and individuals who would like to get involved in these efforts.

Cleanup Supplies Available

DMASWA offers the use of safety vests, litters grabbers, gloves and collection bags to those individuals and/or groups who are interested in cleaning up problem areas in their neighborhoods. Materials can be checked out from the Solid Waste Education Office free of charge. This is a cooperative effort between DMASWA, Dubuque County Secondary Roads Department, Dubuque County Board of Supervisors, and the City of Dubuque. DMASWA will provide the materials and free disposal fees and the Secondary Roads Department and the City of Dubuque Public Works Department will pick up the collected materials and deliver them to the landfill. Arrangements must be made ahead of time for pick up of materials following a cleanup. An information form and liability waiver needs to be signed by all parties participating in the cleanup. For more information and to schedule materials for a cleanup program, contact the Solid Waste Education Coordinator by email or by calling 563-588-7933.
